What Happens When a Dynadot Domain Expires?
Dynadot runs its own internal auction marketplace for expired domains. Approximately 30 days after expiration, an expired Dynadot domain is listed for auction on Dynadot's platform. Auctions last 7–11 days with automatic 5-minute extensions if bids come in near the end. Unsold domains go to a 3-day closeout with declining prices.

Dynadot Domain Grace Period
After a Dynadot domain expires, the registrant has approximately 30 days to renew at the standard renewal price. During this period, DNS stops resolving and the domain is parked. Dynadot sends renewal reminders before and after expiration.

Dynadot Auction Requirements
To participate in Dynadot expired domain auctions, you must have a $5.00 account balance or have purchased at least $5.00 in services in the last year.
Dynadot Closeout Domains
Domains that receive no bids during the expired auction phase move to Dynadot's Expired Closeout listing. Closeout domains are available for 3 days (72 hours) at a fixed price that drops each day. These are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Where Does Dynadot Auction Expired Domains?
Unlike many registrars that send their expired inventory to GoDaddy Auctions, Dynadot runs its own marketplace. You need a Dynadot account to bid on their expired domains. Dynadot is also listed as a Major Domain Auction Site in its own right.
